We have to learn to shift our focus from “what could have been” to “what can be”. Remember, the actions you take today are the seeds of your future achievements. So start again, Start today!

Today offers a fresh opportunity to plant the “metaphorical tree” and set the stage for future growth and success. This we can do by identifying our goals and then creating a plan. We also need to seek the right support, embrace continuous learning, and be adaptable.

Though we cannot change the past, we can however shape the future by taking action in the present. While the ideal time to start a project, learn a new skill, or innovate might have been in the past, the most critical time is now.

So, you may have failed in key areas of your career, building a business, learning a new skill, building relationships, or taking care of your health. The advice is that you must dare to start again because failure is never final!

It reminds us not to dwell on missed opportunities, past regrets, and “what could have been” but to instead take action in the present and seize the moment.

Reflecting on past opportunities that we didn't take can be disheartening and demoralizing. Yet, this proverb teaches us that starting something worthwhile is never too late.

By consistently putting in that little “extra” therefore, you set yourself apart, drive progress, and inspire those around you. Extraordinary people strive for that little “extra” in everything they do. You should strive for the same also.

It means paying attention to details, being proactive rather than reactive, and striving for excellence in every aspect of your work. Though it seems little, that “extra” effort can make a significant difference between good and great, between adequate and exceptional.

That little “extra" signifies going beyond the call of duty in your daily tasks, relentlessly seeking improvement, and displaying an unwavering commitment to your goals.

The willingness to exert that “extra” effort distinguishes the exceptional from the average. That little “extra” could be a small act of kindness, an extra hour of practice, a willingness to learn and improve, a fresh perspective or idea, a dash of creativity, etc.

The difference between ordinary and extraordinary lies in the small, consistent, and dedicated actions we take daily. That is what elevates the extraordinary above the ordinary.

The summary is that we have to learn to eliminate unnecessary activities, reduce waste, and optimize our efforts for maximum impact. Remember, it’s not just about working hard; it’s about working smart.

This approach not only boosts productivity but will also ensure that our time and energy are dedicated to impactful work. It makes us to be both efficient and effective.

You need to have both a “to do list” and a “stop doing list”. When you do, you can let go of tasks that are unnecessary and then focus on those that propel us forward.
