Written out as a file, the same data will also fail to import into the Keychain Access app with the same error. openssl OTOH can parse and display its content just fine. Using a dummy password for P12 export and P12 import made it work again. 2/2.

TIL that in #macOS #Sequoia SecPKCS12Import() fails with error errSecAuthFailed ("Authorization/Authentication failed") when trying to import PKCS12 data that's "protected" with an empty password (""). 1/2.

I had even better shots, but iOS decided to let them vanish after a reboot. Before the reboot, the photos that vanished could be viewed, but not edited (the Photos app just showed "Loading" forever). Now I wonder if my iPhone has silently dropped photos in the past… 😕.

Turns out the low flying airplane over our area wasn't taking 3D map data after all. It mapped the area for the potential of geothermal energy.

I was wondering why a civil airplane this size is flying so low above our area, looked it up on FlightRadar24 and it sure seems like a map service is taking aerial shots for 3D maps. I'm sure happy we cleaned up the mess in the garden yesterday.

All I could find from Apple on this ( says only "some apps" require an ICP filing number and also doesn't mention any dates. Anyone knows more or has seen more definite info directly from Apple? (2/2)

For a few major versions now (IIRC since the Big Sur redesign), macOS no longer has a sidebar icon for servers identifying as "Xserve" - instead showing a placeholder "document" icon. It's silly, but it saddens my inner geek every time I notice.

Apparently, the address, phone number and email address of every vendor is now also shown on their apps' App Store web preview pages. 😕.

Looks like the email addresses that need to be listed on the #AppStore are already being harvested and targeted by spammers and phishers. This is literally the first mail this address - which I created specifically for listing on the #AppStore - has received.
