In September, 943 volunteers contributed 1,914 hours to further our mission of ending hunger in central Alabama. We received 2,064,149 pounds of food and distributed 1,701,174 pounds, providing over 1,417,645 meals to our neighbors facing hunger.

As the federal government shutdown continues, many of our neighbors face uncertainty. If the shutdown continues, disruptions to SNAP, TEFAP, WIC, and other federal nutrition programs will become more likely. 🧵
