Many Canadian soldiers lost their lives under harsh military discipline in WWI - 25 executed, mostly for desertion. A tragic reminder of war’s psychological toll & how far justice & mental health awareness have come. #CEF #WWI #MilitaryJustice #Remembrance

Fallen Newfoundland soldier’s identity remains unknown after 100+ years. Possibly Private George Patrick Kirk of the 13th Battalion Royal Highlanders. Help us find his family to restore his name & honour his sacrifice. RT to spread the word.

Piper James Richardson VC inspired his comrades at Regina Trench, Somme (1916) by playing his bagpipes under heavy fire-leading a charge through barbed wire that broke enemy lines. He bravely returned for his pipes and was never seen again. A true symbol of Canadian courage!

The #CEF WWI wound badge was more than a medal, it was protection. Women in the #WhiteFeatherCampaign shamed returning vets, sometimes wrongly, marking them as cowards. The badge honoured unseen sacrifice and combated stigma veterans faced at home.

Five Canadian heroes-Sgt George Miok (41 CER), Cpl Zachery McCormack (41 CER), Sgt Kirk Taylor (West Nova Scotia), Pte Garrett Chidley (PPCLI), & civilian journalist Michelle Lang-made the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan. Their legacy reminds us of our duty to #remember.

Remember the 1992 World Series ‘Flag Flap’ when the Canadian flag flew upside down at Turner Field? 🇨🇦🆘 A grave mistake by the Marines sparked apologies from President Bush and became a memorable moment of unity and respect for our Maple Leaf.

When a Canadian flag has served its duty and become worn or faded, cremation is the respectful and proper way to retire it. Beechwood Cemetery ensures flags are honoured and disposed of with dignity and minimal environmental impact. Send your flags to 280 Beechwood Ave, Ottawa 🇨🇦

Sackville’s Memorial Park, where 72 local heroes gave their lives. This sacred space in a small town reminds us that young people must remember and carry forward the legacy of courage and sacrifice in Canadian military heritage.

The Medicine Hat POW camp murders remain a stark chapter in Canada’s wartime history. Nazi fanaticism met Canadian justice. “Iustitia omnibus”: justice for all was tested under barbed wire, shaping a legacy of integrity and rule of law that echoes in Canadian #militaryheritage.
