This is a great step out of @ISBEnews that #WAedu needs too. It still begs the huge question- how? With schools back to pre-COVID scheduling, teachers have limited capacity to support remote options. Small districts can’t staff remote-only teachers for quarantine Ss.
ISBE held a special meeting today to adopt a resolution in support of the State Superintendent making a slight amendment to her previously issued in-person learning declaration. Following the Board's adoption of the resolution, the State Superintendent declared:

Hitting a little close to home this morning… yesterday a principal told me this fall has been the hardest of the whole pandemic. As districts we’re scrambling. This school year is not what we hoped it would be in June. @chrisreykdal @WA_SBE we’re need updated guidance.
