Minority govt is a norm in the West. But in M’sia, where democracy shows its chaotic yet pluralistic nature, a minority govt must indicate something sinister. Because the expectation is in Asia, leaders must have enough mandate to be “strongmen”. 2025’s version of orientalism:.
Anwar has a mandate from the YDPA he doesn't have any mandate from the people. Same as a backdoor PM no different.

When voters are upset, hear them. If the demand makes sense, reflect & adjust. But, if their demand could lead the country towards a worse predicament, the govt should stand the ground & explain, with the right tone & messaging. Dissent is a right. No need to be condescending.

Most developed countries have few public holidays, but many compensate by mandating 20-30 days of annual leaves, allowing employees to take a whole month off during summer etc. It’s greed, institutional decay & poor economic policy that make a nation poor - not public holidays.
