-Git init is done "one time per project" . I went further to learn Git terminologies, such as commit, Repository, Branch, etc. "Should all files be mistakenly deleted from that folder," can it be recovered, I asked? . "Yes, it can, as long as it's been tracked". "How?"

File/collection of files. I learnt how to track a folder using "git init"-git initialization. -By doing this, git starts tracking changes made to that folder. -it creates a hidden folder by default (.git) which can be viewed using the command ls -force(for power shell terminal).
