Thatcher's right-to-buy policy has decimated the UK's housing stock and has allowed private landlords to expand their property portfolios and exploit renters. The Green Party is clear. The government should scrap right-to-buy and invest properly in genuinely affordable housing.

💰Never more, but never less than £3 eh? ⚠️We're hearing from drivers that single fares in #Exeter will rise from £2 to £3 in Jan. 😳If true, that's an overnight 50% hike in fares for the city's passengers. Can you confirm please @StagecoachSW

❗We say the sale of this precious green field should be delayed until the case has been made to the public that the company planning the energy plant have proved there is no alternative brownfield site that could be used. Full story:

❓Should Labour-led #Exeter City Council flog off a green field within the Riverside Valley Park - and a valuable site for nature - so an industrial energy centre complex can be built on it?

The only way to end fiasco of water company shareholders growing rich while sewage is dumped in our rivers & customers are left to pick up the bill is to put failing water companies into special administration & then bring them back into public ownership https://t.co/xwilah1vOX

Devolution should be about making decisions as close as possible to the people most impacted. For that, we need to keep the 'local' in 'local government'. And we should have proportional representation for local elections - to make them as fair and democratic as possible.

✔️There are things to welcome in the govt's #Devolution white paper ⚠️The big gap is the democratic deficit that threatens to steal power away from local people ❓How will local communities get heard ❓Who will hold mayors to account 💚We need to keep the *local* in local govt

Labour's obsessive focus on housing numbers fails the holistic approach needed. We have seen the results of this numbers game in Exeter - developments that have torn up green spaces & delivered high-priced, car-dependent homes without schools, GPs, shops, public transport. 5/6
