Wait, where did the 🎁 emoji come from? . You got me, I added some code to customize the fee properties displayed on the cart and checkout pages. Easily done via a PHP filter in your functions.php file like so:

Publish. Hit the publish button and let’s checkout the cart. Checkbox looks good, and so does the cart. These screenshots are using the block enabled pages found in the more recent versions of WooCommerce, but our plugin works with the classic ones too.

Charge it per item. If the customer orders 10 items, the gift wrapping cost should reflect 10x. Switch the Apply to setting from Cart to Cart Items. This way the fee is applied to each item. We could get fancy and define a rates table, but let’s leave that for another tweet! ☑️.

Require customer opt-in. Easily done by toggling the Apply automatically setting off. This tells the plugin to display a checkbox on the cart and checkout pages allowing customers to add this fee as an optional extra. ☑️.

Add a new fee. Up pops our Fee editor modal. No page loading here folks, just modern React goodness. Fill in some basic details like a title and amount. I think we should charge $5 per item gift wrapped. What do you think? Too much?

Ready set go!. The fee management dashboard can be found within the WooCommerce settings page. You won’t find any colorful banners or distracting up-sells here. Our dashboard is seamless.
