This could be improper transfer though (the domain was originally bought through Google Domains) but still be cautious on buying domains there. The issue is persistent on ANY nameserver change, even to their own

I will leave a bit of a PSA: please never buy domains from Squarespace. They actually do not allow to change nameservers at all (to Cloudflare even) without contacting support, and I and my team were waiting for a day now for a response via their “live chat”.
