allow me to add that absolutely no one talks about how mammy's heavily implied to be the tom's true owner in her last few appearances. it's such a forgotten, neat detail that I think helped make what started as a stereotype slowly convert into a nice bit of representation.

been on an insane 40s binge and the jazz is absolutely nuts especially early on, mammy two shoes is low-key funny and entertaining, and also the fact that the zoot suit was FILLED with aave that'd be used in modern day, it's interesting that tom and jerry just don't do this now.
