My 13th Meet the Teacher Night was a success! I got to meet 15/21 of my new students and see some of my former ones. The best part was hearing the parents say “They were really hoping to get you!” & “We’re so thankful to have you as our child’s teacher again!”#henriehawks

MY COUSIN’S WIFE SUFFERED FROM A HEMORRHAGIC STROKE 2 WEEKS & WAS JUST MOVED FROM ICU TO A REHAB. SHE IN ON THE SLOW ROAD TO RECOVERY. IF YOU FEEL SO INCLINED TO DONATE TO THE GOFUNDME TO HELP WITH MEDICAL BILLS, WE WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.

As a RLA team, we decided to have our students write persuasive texts in their journals picking what we should be for Halloween. While at Spirit Halloween I came across this costume. So obviously I had to get it, right? I even found matching socks to tie it together. #4thgrade

This year on the Reading STAAR, students will not only have to read and respond to questions, but also write short answers and an essay. This week, I decided to take a break from writing and rate some writings to help my students understand why were writing so much. #bilingual

On Friday, I decided to make my STAAR review a little more engaging and interactive and did a classroom transformation. We were detectives and had to help our clients solve their cases using graphic features and SCR (short constructed responses). #iteachfourth #bilingualteacher
