On this day in 1986: Eric took the stage for his performance at @MontreuxJazz, with @PhilCollinsFeed supporting on the drums. Eric's set, which included a performance of "Badge," would eventually be released on DVD in 2006.

During a conversation with @rickbeato in 2023, @ThePoliceBand guitarist @asummersmusic described a transaction for a Sunburst Les Paul guitar that took place between the two musicians back in their early years.

On this day in 1940: @ringostarrmusic was born. Ringo, along with Carl Perkins, joined Eric in October of 1985 for a performance of "Matchbox" at London's Limehouse Studios. The concert ended up being broadcast on @HBO and @Cinemax later that year.

In July of 1997, Eric embarked on the Legends Tour with @MarcusMiller959 on bass, @DavidSanborn on saxophone, @CreoleJoe on keys, and @DrSteveGadd on drums. The group played at major European jazz festivals that summer, including this performance of "Groovin'" at @northseajazz.
