Either there's no such thing as democracy, or we ARE one. So if you insist "we're technically not a democracy," know you're right only in the narrowest possible sense that even the most annoying elites would find a bit much. (7)

You may have heard the term "western democracy" used before. Guess what — by the most-literal definition, no western democracies are "democracies." The same goes for the concept of a "liberal democracy" — no "liberal democracy" on earth is technically a democracy! (6)
