Thank you for highlighting our case series! Because of this series, my very first EUS-GJ @WUGastro used this direct-puncture technique due to a complete malignant obstruction. So grateful for my training @UNCGastro with @EndoTx @a_gilman @KellyHathornMD @LGlovesSicily! 🙏🏼🫶🏼

🔄 FOLLOW UP: Patient returned for PD stent removal as it did not spontaneously pass and the sphincterotomy defect healed nicely with PuraStat!
1/2 ⁉️Novel application of PuraStat⁉️ Case: Minor defect after dual sphincterotomy with 5Fr x 2cm PD stent already in place Tx: PuraStat applied to create “sealant” & 5Fr x 7cm biliary stent placed to prevent obstruction. Both stents expected to spontaneously pass.

Going through files and found hand written signed original reprints from Basil Hirschowitz, the father of fiber optic endoscopy and ASGE Schindler award winner in 1978. I had the honor of working under his guidance during residency, fellowship, and faculty at UAB Left one 1962.
