If you're new there and want to find the rest of the accounts you follow from here, use the browser extension 'Sky Follower Bridge' (available on Chrome and Firefox). It did a great job helping me get setup.

The user experience on here has become atrocious. I've stuck it out because the I've loved the metal community so much, but an alternative for that now exists over at BlueSky. So if you want to find me, I'm there (same handle).

A melodic black/death album at its core, Dyssebeia eschew the usual genre trappings with a distinct progressive flourish to the riffing. A clear songwriting intent to stay tight and focused prevents the songs from being too weighed down by different ideas https://t.co/cSOLX92r87

Massive meloblack that expertly wields usual genre elements (synths, piano, clean vox) to propel a haunting tale of forced scientific experimentation. Variation in riffing and tempo are used to make an engrossing 43mins, with a sublime instrumental closer https://t.co/HvJK4zs8q7

On Monday night I got to see the legendary Steve Vai! A jaw dropping 2.5 hours of virtuosity, a great mix of new and old songs and all at a venue walking distance from my Mum's place πŸ˜‚

There's not much I could reasonably add about this release that Ryan from @progsubway didn't cover in his great review (where I found this release). Excellent musicianship, fun songs and tight quality control at ~45 mins runtime. https://t.co/ht6ae91B9Y

A great set with songs across their albums, I was stoked to see my fave In Technicolour 🌈 (couldn't resist an opportunity to capture some of it)

As for the gig, what an outstanding night! I found out later that Hemina were playing through some difficult personal circumstances, but you wouldn't have known it from their performance.

Adding to what's already been said about this one: a monumental achievement of melodic-tech, Stortregn manage to walk the line between flashy, detailed intertwining axework & still providing hooks to hang onto. Repeat listens only deepen the appreciation. https://t.co/ElM2mNUVoF

Every bit as eclectic as its grotesque cover art, mileage will vary with this. Sludgey riffs and shouted vocals are spun through a proggy blender, w/ 80's style synths (occ. eerie) providing ample atmosphere that give way to occasional bursts of melody https://t.co/7vMXTSSBO1

An intriguing blend of brutal death, industrial + some deathcore. Short songs keep the album constantly flowing from one pummelling assault to the next, while industrial sequences + short run time ensure quality pacing so it never outstays its welcome. https://t.co/cikGPt8r7E

An outstanding EP. Variety is the name of the game here, as Deafening flirt with BM fury, introspective post-metal, electronica, and down-tuned modern metalcore stomp. The reverb-drenched shrieks and cleans are a highlight and a tether across the runtime. https://t.co/G0oRTBNU6m

A towering and powerful piece of melodic/atmospheric BM. Symphonics and a huge production bring a real warmth to the cosmic subject matter, with some tasteful guitar leads adding further enjoyment. A lovely companion to Mesarthim's 2023 cosmic BM release. https://t.co/DqM1sy2tXM

#OceanstoOutback Run #10 Bit late posting this one. Slept through my alarms on Monday morning and missed the run club, so I did the run club loop (in reverse) on my own in the evening before dinner

#OceanstoOutback Run #7 A longer town loop with a spin up Gilly lane for some elevation (and photos!) Could’ve done without the magpie swooping along the way though!

#OceanstoOutback Run #4 Having a long weekend down the South Coast, so an excellent opportunity to mix up my runs. 6km today to make up for not getting out yesterday.
