The Golden Triangle Early College High School coordinated a Suicide Prevention Awareness Walk on our Mayhew campus today. The event coincides with September’s designation as National Suicide Prevention Month. Participants included faculty, staff and students.

An orientation session for new faculty took place this morning at The Communiversity. The event was sponsored by our Center for Teaching and Learning under the direction of Scott Baine. EMCC President Dr. Scott Alsobrooks provided an overview of EMCC to the new faculty.

A job fair took place today in the Lyceum Auditorium for Associate Degree Nursing students who graduate in December. Representatives from regional health care industries were available to speak to the students about career opportunities.

Our Adult Education Department inducted new members into the National Adult Education Honor Society today in a ceremony in the Lyceum Auditorium on our Golden Triangle campus. This was the first honor society induction ceremony for Adult Ed students to take place at EMCC.

Cooking for a Cause kicked off yesterday on our Scooba campus and continued today on our Golden Triangle campus. During the event to raise funds for EMCC’s Campus Care Closet food samples by EMCC and Sodexo chefs were distributed for free and donations accepted.
