Shame on docs who sell out to make a few bucks by doing “peer to peer” reviews for insurance companies . I want you to get out your medical school personal statement and see how it aligns with what you are doing today . If you won’t put your name behind it, you’re in the wrong.
I’m sharing an actual recent peer-to-peer call that shows what physicians and patients face when trying to get a surgery approved. This call felt as absurd as it sounds. The peer-to-peer call was to advocate for surgery to prevent and treat lymphedema for a patient with breast

Continuing that yearly reminder for every July 1st. For the new interns- Let’s Gooooooo!.
Your yearly reminder that before you send out your hot take on how July 1st is coming up and that means having brand new interns…. If you don’t like working with new interns every year, you can always get a job at a non-academic hospital….

The menswear guy ALWAYS comes with receipts with more in the comments 😂😂😂.
Hi Anthony! I agree, we should support US manufacturing jobs. I see you're the CEO of Sticker Mule and your $20 t-shirts are made in Nicaragua. As you know, cheap imports make it hard for US factories. Would you be interested in supporting US manufacturers? I can help for a fee.

As a physician who is residency trained and board certified in their speciality, this makes me infinitely more qualified to be Surgeon General than @CaseyMeansMD regardless of anything else on our respective CVs.
The White House pulled the nomination of Janette Nesheiwat to be the surgeon general in favor of Casey Means, a key figure in the “Make America Healthy Again” movement.

Having worked at Crozer for 4 years, I can definitively say that Private equity is responsible for this. It’s one thing to do this to a restaurant chain like Red Lobster- it takes another kind of monster to do this to a safety net hospital.

My heart breaks for the patients and staff affected by this and it will take a miracle to avoid closing these critical safety net hospitals at a time when we need more hospitals to keep up with the aging population of the US.

Exhibit A on why private equity doesn’t belong in healthcare. Crozer-a safety net hospital in the Philly suburbs-was acquired by PE who ran the playbook to its destruction. Sell off assets, cut staffing, and sell the real estate and make the hospital pay rent on its own property.
Healthcare workers and elected officials are demanding accountability after Prospect Medical Holdings announced they would be closing Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Chester and Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park.

This one is for the pre-ox nerds. Our study that got shut down during COVID is finally in print. Real time end-tidal oxygen readings on NRBM vs. NIV in healthy volunteers. Bottom line- better correlation in NIV vs NRBM. Open access- please discuss!.

Preoxygenation decreases morbidity for patients requiring endotracheal intubation. However, rigorous means for determining adequate pre-oxygenation are limited in the emergency department (ED)....
