— out of the magical figures here there’s only the hydra and the wizard. the shield and sword are lying down because the paladin has been defeated. only the wizard can save the paladin from the hydra.

— there are two towers on the sides, but one has the wizard, will the wise. the other has the hydra, vecna/mind flayer. mike’s hand (with the watch btw) is closer to the tower with the hydra, which might mean he’s in the upside down/under vecna’s influence and in danger.

— one of the hydra heads is reaching towards mike (we can assume it’s vecna and the mind flayer, since they’re basically connected). his shield and sword are lying nearby, meaning he’s been defeated and lost this battle.
