I'm so happy to see this: a collection of speculative short fiction, and the first book to be published by Westland's dedicated SF imprint, IF, on the long-list of a major mainstream fiction prize. You can get @gigiganguly's excellent BIOPECULIAR here:

I loved the water of you, the snake of you, everything amorphous and short-lived, as I expected nothing to last of us. —Hannah Sanghee Park https://t.co/nJPzPw2vUf

There you exist in water. Unending sketch and erase of waves on the sea surface. Today, you’ll be all the words I wanted to say: look, they’re so pretty in that second they surface. You almost didn’t...

I think anthologies are really neat and I would like to participate in more — and perhaps be invited to some, one day. Just putting this out to the universe 💫

Gobsmacked and thrilled to find myself longlisted for @TaraTheatre’s NOVA seed commission!! Honoured that my little play, reimagining Antigone in the aftermath of the Sri Lankan civil war, has been recognised alongside the work of such talented writers

Growing up, I rarely read about people like me or saw them on the screen. Every bi book that's been published has helped to add to representation. Growing Up Queer In Australia is a fantastic intersectional anthology of real stories. It's refreshing to see it in bookshops! (2/3)

It's Bisexual Visibility Week, so my bi-for-bi novel ORPHIA AND EURYDICIUS is sharing the company of some other books featuring bisexual characters and stories. 💙💜💖 It's still a struggle for a lot of bi people to find support, acceptance, and community. (1/3)

Thanks for the shout-out for my Orpheus and Eurydice retelling in the article about #KAOS / #KAOSNetflix, @BookTrib! It's great to see more people getting interested in the myths - or reviving their love.

Poetry about mental health has a value that's hard to put into words (funilly enough). Congratulations, @RosamundTaylor. https://t.co/S7Mz5P1MiG

Surprised and pleased to notice that @montrealprize has put two of my poems on their website from the shortlist in 2013 and 2015. These poems were written when I was in my early twenties and though they're not my best work, I like how directly I was dealing with depression.

Related (and a shameless self plug) - I have a podcast called Arcx which focuses on south Asian sci-fi, fantasy, and speculative fiction authors. We highlight a lot of under appreciated books - and these are genres that deserve more love. SA authors are doing amazing work here!

why don't indian bookstagrammers ever talk about indian and other south asian authors? they can recommend taylor jenkin reids and emily henry but not meena kandasamy, humayun ahmed, mahasweta devi, shehan karunatilaka, attia hosain, kamala das, perumal murugan and amrita pritam?
