The East London Mosque condemns the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by Israeli forces. Their unjustifiable violence against worshippers, congregating in one of Islam’s holiest place during the blessed month of Ramadan, has left at least 152 Palestinians injured.

. No community should have to live in fear of attacks or violence, and we urge community leaders and the police to intervene in helping to restore community safety and order.

The East London Mosque received another bomb threat this afternoon. The Police have carried out a thorough check of the premises and did not find anything suspicious. As a result of the bomb threat, the Asr Jammah (prayer) was slightly delayed.

Today, the East London Mosque Senior Citizens Group took 27 men to visit the Woking Mosque in Surrey.
The elders were delighted for this opportunity to travel together which also included a picnic before visiting a cemetery to pay their respect to Muslim notables buried there.

There have been no reports of any sighting of the new Moon, so there is no fasting on Thursday. Insha’Allah, we will have further news on Thursday evening.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Police and our Mosque staff for their swift and professional response. We also thank the community for their patience, and urge everyone to remain vigilant and steadfast in the face of such threats.
It is the second year in a row that Israeli troops have chosen Ramadan to desecrate one of Islam's holiest places. There can never be any justification for attacking places of worship, let alone a sanctuary for all three Abrahamic faiths.
