11.Regens are strength. Regens are power. The real power of crypto has always come from people who care about more than just themselves. Those who build, collaborate, and prioritize long-term value give Web3 its resilience and purpose. 💪.

10. Not all is lost. The real regens are still here, quietly BUIDLing. Projects like @gitcoin (funding public goods) and the #ReFi movement are alive. Visionaries like @VitalikButerin never stopped caring about decentralization and the long game.

9. The result? We lost something precious. The sense of purpose – the ethos that made Web3 more than a get-rich-quick scheme – has eroded. If crypto is just about profit, we’ve rebuilt Wall Street 2.0 with even fewer safeguards . The soul of the movement is fading.

8. Scams & burnout: Each big rugpull or betrayal (think Terra, FTX) drove more idealists away. It’s exhausting to champion long-term good while greed wins short-term. Disillusionment: Many regens gave up or went quiet, discouraged by shouting into the void.

7. Why did the regen culture fade? Some reasons:.•🌪️ Hype cycles: Each bull run flooded crypto with speculators, drowning out the idealists. •💸 Easy money: VCs, influencers and greed made number go up the only narrative. Vision doesn’t trend like 100x gains.

6. For many, Web3 devolved into a zero-sum game. The same tech meant to empower us became a hotbed for scams and greed. We’ve seen devastating implosions (Terra, FTX, etc.) proving that chasing sky-high gains can burn the entire community . Trust took a hit.

5. Now the degenerate mentality dominates. Many so-called “communities” are just pump-and-dump groups chasing the next token moonshot. Influencers shill worthless coins to their followers. Rug pulls, Ponzi-nomics, and FOMO trading have replaced building and research. (🚫👷‍♂️→🎰).

4. For a while, this ethos thrived. But then came the degens. 💰 “Degenerate” culture exploded during DeFi summer and the NFT boom . Degens chased 1000% yields and meme coins, treating Web3 like a casino. The vibe shifted from innovation to speculation overnight.

3. Early #crypto culture had a mission. Talk of decentralizing power, banking the unbanked, building an open internet for all. Communities felt united by vision, not just price. Being a “regen” meant believing we could reshape finance and society for the better.

2. What were “regens”? Short for “regenerative” folks, they championed positive-sum Web3 values . Regens believed crypto could empower communities, fund public goods, and solve real problems —not just line their own pockets.
