A mother and her two children - aged seven and four - have died in a house fire in Stroud in the early hours on Boxing Day. Police say the father was taken to hospital and tried to save his family. Detective Superintendent Ian Fletcher has this update:

An investigation is continuing into a serious house fire near Stroud, which has left three people unaccounted for. Emergency services were called to a house on Brimscombe Hill in the early hours of Boxing Day.
