Days 1 and 2 of @plymbiolmarsci 1st year field course🌊 Students are getting stuck in learning about rocky shore ecology, and thinking about how to form hypotheses and design experiments to test their ideas. Meanwhile, staff are trying their hardest to soak up the sun! #PlyMBIO

A fantastic thread on our new paper that came out earlier this week! Super proud of Rob for all his hard work on this as a @BristolPalaeo MSc student, and of course many thanks to co-authors @sheardcat and Tim for their contributions also! 🐒
✨New paper alert✨ Look at this buddy. He's got red on his face (and his butt). That's weird, right? Because most animals can't distinguish between red and green. So why are some -- but not all -- primates so colourful? 📷: New England Primate Conservatory

Enjoying my morning coffee a little more today ☕️ Thanks for the chairs award @BristolThunder and @bethkorf! I’m very sad to be leaving the club this summer, but this will work nicely as a little Thunder memento💙

Today I got my clinical diagnosis for an “unusual but severe” allergy to bloodworms🪱 It’s a nasty (and inconvenient) allergy that can be developed through frequent exposure, so this is my annual reminder to the fishy community to always wear gloves when handling bloodworms!!
