I'm a believer that devs should own the software they write end-to-end, including the operations. Automate as much as possible, document the rest, and have useful telemetry and alerts when things go awry. Do your postmortems/retrospectives, and hold accountability. 4/4 ;-).

I enjoy mentoring folks and have several years of eng mgmt experience so tech leadership is good by me. I've spoken at several tech conferences, love Test Driven Development (it's not for everyone but automated tests should be!), and am a fast learner of most things tech. 3/5.

I prefer Go to C now but I wouldn't mind trying my hand at Rust. I've deployed software in Ruby (both Rails and not), Java, JavaScript, C, C++ (but I'd rather not go back to it. ), Erlang (weird but powerful for distributed systems), Python, and PERL. 2/5.

I'm looking for a Staff+ Software Dev *remote* role. Distributed systems are my jam: everything behind the frontend. I've over 20 years of software dev experience, much of it in Ruby and Java. C was my mother tongue; it still holds a place in my heart. RT appreciated. 1/5.

If you still use this platform after today, wtf?. (Yes, I'm just here to share this).

. @Verily Care to explain why your wastewater tracking system has no presence in or anywhere within 20 miles of Washington, DC? @BiobotAnalytics had several locations within the vicinity. I have no affiliation with Biobot.

For anyone paying attention, I no longer use this platform. It has taken its place among the unscrupulous ilk of Fox "News" and worse. Demand better. Don't be here. You know where the better place is. Go there. Expect others to go there. Don't contribute to this cesspool.

My product was bought when a warranty was offered. Here's the "help" they offered. #donotbuy #Ikea

This isn't how you keep customers. This is how you get formerly loyal customers to curse your name in public. Please to reach out—though I check twitter rarely now. Oh, and, for the warranty change and wasting my time with a useless visit to your store? 🖕🖕.

How many more of my blinds will fail in the next few years? How many more times are you going to make me call you out publicly or report you to the BBB.

2. Update your fyrtur web pages to indicate that all customers, who bought fyrtur prior to whatever date after March 2022 that you decided on this unfortunate change in support for your product, retain their full 5-year warranty.

I strongly suggest that you do this:. 1. Exchange my broken fyrtur for a new working one that you will likewise warranty for 5 years.

What aren't you telling your customers? Is this a defective product?.

So, @IKEAUSA, what are you going to do about this? Right now, it sure seems like you're gaslighting customers who bought fyrtur when it had a 5-year warranty into not exchanging them for working units.

So I go to the store. I bring my broken blind. The customer service manager tells me that y'all no longer honor the warranty. That there is no warranty offered for fyrtur. I bought my fyrtur years ago—when you had a warranty. You don't get to decide not to honor a warranty.

I had one of my blinds fail. The battery is fine; it works in another unit. With a fresh battery, the blind doesn't respond. I reach out on web chat and customer service directs me to bring it to a store. I'm not thrilled. I bought these online. Why should I visit a store?.
