It’s hard to believe that these goliaths are afraid of a small insect, but this fear may help save their lives. Take a look at how #SouthAfrica’s @elephantsalive and @blackmambasapu are using this vulnerability in the elephant’s favour: https://t.co/JvEmrIfQno

“My journey as intern at Elephants Alive allowed me to contribute to the understanding of the behaviors of these magnificent creatures. I gained hands-on knowledge and unforgettable memories. These experiences were exactly the reason I chose to study biology/ecology” - Cassander

As #matriarch of their societies, our ‘Ndlopfu Gogos’ resemble #elephant matriarchs in more ways than one. Their wrinkles are a map of their life, history & wisdom. Their teachings are passed on through generations, as long as their families live on. ➡️ https://t.co/18FCSDtApe

Great work being done to combat #humanwildlifeconflict in Kenya by @MaraElephant 👏🐘🙌
In July, with crops ripe throughout the Mara, Mara Elephant Project’s resources were dedicated to mitigating conflict, promoting co-existence within the communities and assisting partners when the worst case scenario occurs.

“There are many ways to study the environment. Long-term studies based on repeated measurements of the same entities is one of the most powerful. Most ecological research is short-term, but most key changes in the environment take place over prolonged periods.”- D. Lindenmayer ⬇️
