Excited to share my first PhD chapter! Using drones we found rays turnover 21,000 tons of sand annually in an Australian temperate estuary - a greater mass than the Great Sphinx of Giza! Highlighting the importance of rays to the ecosystem ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿฅž https://t.co/laDMfor31p

This study used aerial drones to map daily ray bioturbation activity and extrapolated these patterns using aerial imagery to assess sediment displaced annually by rays during foraging activities at...

Another massive thank you to all ECRs that gave fantastic presentations at the Blue World funded Sydney Harbour MER activity in Parsley Bay this weekend. You provided the community with a wealth of information and re-ignited our passion to conserve our marine environment.

There's an official government petition to raise the PhD stipends in Australia to $45k. Their current rate of less than $30k makes it impossible to focus on research and will have long term impacts on Australian trained scientists. Sign it!

New #SawsharkScience out in #MarineFreshwaterRes today! We show that common and southern #sawsharks exhibit multiple paternity and provide the first evidence for hybridisation between these species! @urchinhunter @MEG_MQ @mqnatsci ๐Ÿ“ https://t.co/xtST147iQu

Cownose rays have a more constrained niche than eagle rays, and prefer hanging out at lower latitudes along the NSW coast @elasmofiend #asfb22
