Before starting, this analysis is something I have done because I like these types of topics. I'm not defending Alastor, nor am I saying that he is a good person.
TW: trauma, abuse, SA, personality disorders...
The psychopath lacks empathy from birth; It's impossible to access the pain or happiness of others.
The sociopath can be empathetic, although he reduces this ability for very few people around him. The psychopath seeks to integrate and camouflage himself socially.
look bigger to others, he likes to feel in control of his environment. He also makes it clear that he does not accept that others try to make him see or feel less. (The Husk scene)
Despite all this, he shows slight empathy towards a few people around him. (Niffty, Rosie, Mimzy)
I will start with his psychological analysis since it's somewhat faster to get it this way.
The question of many is:
Is Alastor a psychopath or a sociopath?
The first thing is to know the difference between the two!
With this in mind we come to the conclusion of Alastor as a sociopath at first; During the show we can see that he is a person who acts only to get things from others, he always seeks to get into others weaknesses, he analyzes people, looks for their weak points to make himself+
Something also worth highlighting is that sociopathy is generated in childhood situations in which abuse or neglect is suffered bc of the parents.
Which we can also take with a grain of salt as a sign of something that could be the character's past and his strange moral code.
Now! Alastor's moral code.
Taking into account this psychoanalysis, we know that Alastor has possibly suffered some type of abuse as a child, we know that not from his mother, since he's a mama's boy, it's most likely that the abuse came from his father.
TW: SA, abuse.
We have a comic of Alastor defending a girl in hell from an aggressor. Alastor finished this person in the comic or so it's implied.
It has been confirmed that although Alastor has a special treatment towards women and prefers them to men, he is also capable of +
With the last said, I want to talk about the theory that involves Alastor's past, since I genuinely believe he was a good person or what you could call a good person when he was a child. He can have traits of psychopathy/sociopathy, but I see Alastor as someone with ASPD and NPD.
With this, I'm going to leave the thread here, since it's very long AND I DOUBT IT'S GOING TO BE A HIT or someone is gonna get to this point.😭
Sorry if it's kinda messy. I just wanted to throw it. I'm writing at night, and my English is not perfect!
As we know, he has been compared to Dexter in some lives! (I think the series is on Netflix. Anyway, I saw it on TV when I was younger)
This character's moral code is based on:
1.Don't get caught.
2.Only finish those who deserve it.
What does this sound like to us?
Does it have anything to do with Al's moral code?
Much probably, yes!
Mama's boy, with an abusive father who possibly saw him as someone inferior or hit his mother.( There's also a theory that talks about possible SA)
finishing them. An example is given to us in the show, where several female overlords are seen in the flashback of Alastor arriving to Hell. This is the only time he is called for this, he has never been seen doing it any other time on show or pilot.
Alastor finish ppl that deserves it, like the character from that comic I said to ppl he finished before getting to hell.
This' also a theory that I've been forming with all the lives and things that have been said about Alastor: The first person he ends up with is his father.
I don't think he did it before his mother died! The thing would go:
his mother died, and he ended up with his father.
The disorder and years of abuse result in the Alastor we have today.
After this, he could continued with the murders against people with a behavior like+
With this, I end the thread, I promise.
"Don't get caught", the theory that Al died from a shot to the head when he was mistaken for a fawn / when he was found burning one of his dams which coincides with the same moral code of "If you don't get caught it hasn't happened".
the one his father had or similiar, I hasn't been specified. I hope they give us a good product about this past.
The last thing to emphasize is "Don't get caught"
When ppl get aroace ppl can love and have fking sex is the day I'll be free
I just spent 20 minutes trying to explain to someone I'm not a fking robot AND THEY JUST CONTINUE INVALIDATING ME LIKE???

Honestly, Valentino's character is written to make you feel disgust and hate towards him.
Knowing how to distinguish between fiction and reality is a proship argument. He acts all the show as a spoiled kid
BTW, I just find Val fans weird bc I dont get their view of the character
“Val is a rapist and abuser”
True. Do you know what else Val is? A ten foot tall cross dressing moth with a TV FWB. He’s a fucking fictional character, no his fans do not support his actions, we can just tell the difference between fiction and reality.
