tl;dr if u don't wanna read this: please stop demonizing trans women for transitioning

the point is that yeah the idealized beauty standards can be problematic, but they are also ways of engaging in femininity. you can understand their implicit flaws while wanting them. you're telling people to not want a gender so they can engage in a deconstructive project

a lot of these posts r framed as (and i do believe r somewhat intentioned as) caring for the mental wellbeing of trans women. but you can't help but feel there's always lingering undertones of the behavior being problematic because a trans woman is somehow connected to manhood

it's funny how when a trans woman deigns to engage with femininity in any way the near immediate response is to at least imply that she's perpetuating patriarchy and misogyny without fail
