Trial #6 of my custom eye patch didn’t quite work out. It’s tough hitting another dead end, but every setback teaches something new. Grateful for the brilliant @RoyalMelbourne team! 7th time lucky? #stroke #innovation #gratitude #emmagee #Persistence #Innovation #Resilience

The power of bookending my day! As a stroke survivor, rehab never really ends—but how I structure it makes all the difference. This morning I started my day with a recumbent trike ride before work 🚴‍♂️ and finished it with my physio, practicing walking without my frame and steps!

Having a stroke myself is something that I have grappled with now for 20 years. The physical and emotional impacts are beyond huge. Knowing the signs of stroke could've prevented this. How can you change your life or others by learning the FAST signs?

Do you know that it's National Stroke Week? An entire week that aims to encourage the community to know the F.A.S.T. (Face, Arms, Speech and Time) signs of stroke so that they can save a life. #emmagee #stroke #prevention #recovery @strokefdn

I recently presented to the @GRP Speech Pathology ‘Mental Health Matters’ Team Day on #resilience. An incredible group of therapists and thoroughly loved working with them to explore and develop both their personal & professional resilience. Their feedback was great too!

Subsequent to my stroke, my right vision deteriorated and I became legally blind. In 2024 I had a donor corneal graft sewed into my right eye. initially there were 38 non-dissolvable stitches to hold it in place, I am now down to 9 stitches. Phenomenal what they can do!
