Huge news! I’m beyond thrilled to announce that @KentuckyPress will be publishing my book Sky Watch: The Untold Story of America’s Greatest Show Horse in May 2023 as part of their Horses in History series. I can’t imagine a better home for this project. (Photo by Doug Shiflet)

End-of-semester feels from an intro to creative writing student: "I am really proud of my work. I don’t know that it's good enough to be in a real, published collection one day, but it's exactly how I want it. I’m excited to keep writing." MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

I tweet for the fourth time in six months because this seven-year-old YouTube video of Agility Mastiff is still my favorite thing on the internet.

I'm super grateful to @JournalFlying for giving my essay "Damline" a Best of the Net nod. It's my first! Pardon me while I blush.
Congratulations to this year's Flying Island Journal Best of the Net nominees! Also a special thank you to our editors and readers for all their work for the journal. To see all the nominees and links to their work, visit: https://t.co/WYdcs27GGv

I love seeing my work in @JournalFlying alongside other fine midwestern writers! This piece is dedicated to women, Saddlebred horses, and what we learn from each other. It includes my grandmother, my daughter's namesake. Let the damline continue. https://t.co/ELiEbnwpiK

Today, I learned that Aretha's 1968 Grammy-winning hit is "Chain of Fools" and not "Chain of Food." Two months ago, I learned that Stevie Nicks' "Edge of Seventeen" features a "white-winged dove," not a "one-winged dove." What other icons have I been miss-singing for decades?

The super-smart @StacyJaneGrover in @bitchmedia. Love the idea of homemaking she presents. "Transgender women are making a home in the professional kitchen by...replacing aggression with a form of empowerment, caring, and community forged through cooking." https://t.co/YwrHVCEBra

I knew comprehensive exams would be tough. I wasn't prepared for how tough they would be without coffee! I could really use some new research showing that caffeine actually doesn't affect unborn children, after all.
