I’ve given years of my life, endless hours & thousands of dollars in debt to this industry. I love animation & the community. I always will. But the industry’s instability has damaged my life in ways I can’t begin to explain. I’m at the end of the road & need help to rebuild.

I’m gonna be posting a GoFundMe today or tomorrow. When I do, please share and consider supporting me. It’s humiliating to ask for help, but leaving LA and animation has put me in such a dire financial situation that I am drowning. I’m at rock bottom asking for a lifeline.

Mini episodes (3-5 minutes), volunteer, but would be a place for boarders to get experience getting director notes & working from a script. I don’t have a budget now, but I want to give new/intermediate boarders a safe, no-deadlines, no-pressure space to learn and grow.

I’m not looking just yet… BUT. If I were to need storyboarders for a casual volunteer/mentorship project, who would be interested? 👀.(Posted this elsewhere, but I still have a lot of connections here, so thought I’d share).

I'm sharing these feelings, because some people have said that me being honest about this has helped them as well. It's hard sometimes, and I want to share that.

This account is sort of becoming a journal for me as I work through this process, so sorry if this is a bummer, but I think it's important to share how bad this hurts to leave my dream behind. It's really hurting today.

I was rewatching some OC animatics I made, and the boards I was doing for Circus of Wishes, and all the hard work I did for Warner Bros. And I'm good at what I do. I love my storyboards. It's just really hurting me today to feel that loss of 10+ years of hard work.

Giving myself the space to grieve my career a little bit today. It's gonna take me a lot of time to process all of the things that happened, and it's not going to be a linear healing process. But if there's one thing sticking out to me today, it's that my storyboards are GOOD.

I want to make a mini comic exploring what it has been like to leave the animation industry. I want to help get rid of some of the stigma, there’s so few resources about what it’s like. If anyone has any questions about the journey, I’d also love to answer them here!.

Leaving the animation industry was the right choice. If I didn't choose myself, if I didn't value my self-worth and choose to start over away from Hollywood, I would still be unemployed and depressed in LA. I've got so many thoughts on this journey, but rn I'm celebrating.

I'm overwhelmingly relieved to share that after 20 MONTHS of unemployment, HUNDREDS of job applications, multiple unpaid art tests that went nowhere, so many rejection emails, a move out of LA across the country. I am, finally, starting my new job next Monday. ✨.

I need a version of Twitter where it lets me post, see notifications and read DMs. Somehow I get upset every time I log on here, and I just frankly don’t want to see any posts anymore. (This is a sign for me to stop logging on entirely that I’m ignoring for some reason LMAO).

I personally would absolutely love to see more “short form” series. Not every series needs to be 22-30 minute episodes, and honestly, I think WAY more projects should think about how they can more efficiently tell their story.

What’s something you are hoping to see more of from the indie animation community? It can be anything! I want to hear what folks are hoping for as this community keeps getting bigger, and as more projects get made!.
