Drain line from 14 green and bunker was clogged with tree roots. We ran a new line down to drainage in 13 fairway. Great work by FCCC staff.

My replacement Dave Thoenen has been working with me for the past month learning our golf course. We are getting some much needed drainage repairs done today. It's nice having extra Superintendent helping out. My last day is December 19th. It's been a good 42 year ride.

No golf post today. Helped my son in law put new siding on his house. I was the measure and cut man. Only 3 goofs on the entire project by the cut guy. My Honey and grand daughter Nora were inspecting our work. They gave us 👍👍

Finished my last green aerification this week. Picture is 3 days post aerification. Greens are healing nicely. 1/2" tines 2 1/2" spacing. Went down with Renovate plus and SeaBlend 12-4-5. This was my 80th green aerification as a Superintendent. It's been a good run.

Rain the past 2 weeks has slowed up our fairway aerification. Almost to the halfwat point. Working on #9 today. Cart path only until we get it cleaned up.

My team has been killing it this year. FCCC is in great shape because of them. This has been a challenging season so far. No matter what Mother Nature throws at them they gets the job done. Here is to all of the Staffs out there getting it done. Job well done 👏

FCCC has been blessed with some outstanding Horticuturist the past 20 years. Dave Weymeyer is going part-time in 2026. We are looking to bring on a full time Horticuturist this fall.

My staff worked with Schaefer-Meyer to get sod layed on tees today. Rain was threatening but held off. Great work by all. Tee renovation for 2025 is in the books.

We are finally going to sod our our renovated tees today. Mother Nature made it very interesting. We would get rain one day the next day sod farm would get hit.

Mother Nature hit us pretty good yesterday afternoon. 1.5" of rain in 20 minutes. Most rain I have seen with no lightning and thunder.
