A real Yenko! Last month a group of Yenko Camaros set record sale prices and here is another factory delivered 427 big block that only a few in-the-know dealers ordered for their heavy foot customers. It crosses the auction block next week at the GAA Classic Cars sale.

@eclassicautos This company licensed use of the "GT40" trademark to Ford for the '02 show car. When Ford decided to put the GT40 to production stage, negotiations between the two failed as Ford did not pay the $40 million the owners of the name demanded. Thus, production cars are called the GT

@eclassicautos The GT is similar in outward appearance to the original GT40, but is bigger, wider, and most importantly 4 in (100 mm) taller than the original's 40 in (100 cm) overall height; as a result, a potential name for the car was the GT44.

On this day in history, February 1, 2004, Ford introduced its new Ford GT with a teaser ad during the Super Bowl. A new 200 mph high-performance 'supercar' reminiscent of its iconic 24 Hours of La Mans winning GT40 race car. Twenty-two (22) years ago today.

#SaturdayShowDay The lead show car is a rare 1935 Georges Irat CV6 MDS Roadster. Built in France, the roadster was front wheel drive with the transmission mounted in front of the engine - note the shifter level in the dash. The roadster also featured independent suspension.
