i’m most bothered by the armchair psychology about johns trauma and mental illness (fine by itself) while completely ignoring yoko’s struggles. when we talk about her maybe we can remember she fled a war, lost her child, struggled w/ addiction, and watched her husband be shot!.
i got my ass beat when i said it’s hypocritical to have endless sympathy for john and accept his flaws and then hold yoko to a completely different standard 😀.
