A personal Earltimeupdate. At my weekly weigh in, I checked in at 298.6 lbs. First time under 300 in years. Have lost 44 pounds so far. Long road folks. Still have a lot of work to do, but we’re on the right track.
When North Carolina and Kansas take the floor for Monday night’s National Championship Game, 30 percent of the players on the floor will be from Missouri. Caleb Love (STL), Ochai Agbaji (KC) and Dajuan Harris (Columbia). Great night for Show Me State
Congratulations to Jayson Tatum. Didn’t get the W. Just unbelievable what he did in a Game 7 at 20 years old. His young cohorts abandoned him onthe biggest stage, but he didn’t buckle. He thrived. Just amazing. I’m a proud St. Louisan tonight.
Webster U basketball player Kate Rolfes, the daughter of Incarnate Word Dan Rolfes embraces Coach Tanner Wilkenson after accepting her father’s state championship medal.
In 1997, I watched All-American Larry Hughes lead CBC to a state championship. 25 Years later, his son Larry Hughes Jr scores 20 points in the state championship game and gets a 🏆 of his own. That’s outstanding ❤️
🏀CBC, Chaminade, Kickapoo, Staley, Vashon, Helias, Cape Notre Dame, Raytown South, Kirkwood, Blue Springs, Rock Bridge, Hazelwood Central, IWA, Lincoln Prep, Carl Junction. You are all state champions in my book. 🏀🏆🏆
Just three guys from the Show Me State in the NBA Playoff Bubble. St Louisans Jayson Tatum and Patrick McCaw and Jefferson City’s OG Anunoby. Very nice
RIP Cam Biedscheid. Just terrible news to wake up to this morning. Cam went from a 6’1 JV player at Ritter to a 6’8 star who was one of the best offensive players this area has ever seen. Silky smooth and Lord can that kid shoot the 🏀. Special talent. 💔
Wow. Two St. Louis kids starting together in the NBA All-Star Game. What a night for St Louis area basketball. Congratulations Bradley and Jayson.

In about 15 minutes, I will officially begin my 30th season of broadcasting Billiken basketball. Although our circumstances are different, it is a blessing to be able to sit next my partner and friend
@RammerSTL
for these 30 years. I ❤️ you Billiken fans.
Congratulations to former SLU Billiken and Lindenwood head coach Brad Soderberg. You get to cut the nets down as a national champion tonight. Salute, Sodie
All these Boston fans disgracing themselves on Twitter going after Jayson Tatum because he has the nerve to rep his hometown 🏒 team and the city he was born and raised in. We got you Jay.

A very special

from the New York. The great Julius Erving, aka, Dr. J is in our hotel. I rarely get starry eyed at the sight of celebs, but this is The Doctor. One of the NBA’s All-Time greats. OMG!!
Congratulations to Marvin Williams, who is retiring after a tremendous 40-year career as a basketball official. Did football as well. Marv worked his last game last night at my alma mater McCluer North. Marv is great man and a class act. Salute to a legend.
Incredible period for STL women’s hoops. Napheesa Collier was the WNBA Rookie of the Year. Sug Sutton was drafted by the Washington Mystics of the WNBA and Niele Ivey became the head women’s coach at Notre Dame after a year as a NBA assistant with the Memphis Grizzlies. Salute
This is Tre Paulding, a 6’4 sophomore guard at Lee’s Summit North. He’s the son of former Mizzou standout Rickey Paulding. Young Tre is very good. He can also swat that baseball as well.
Our STL sports community lost a great man in Lou Potsou. Lou was a wonderful soul who would do anything for anybody. He’s done so much for me in our more than 30-year friendship and I know many who knew Lou feel the same way. RIP my friend.
Final. Incarnate Word 53 Kickapoo 43.
IWA wins seventh state title in a row and 131st consecutive game.
24 year Tanner Wilkenson steps into role of head coach for Incarnate Word tonight

The highlight of my SLU broadcast career came in 2000 when J-Love took us to the Conference USA title and NCAA Tournament. He spearheaded the four day “Miracle in Memphis” run with his spectacular play. He was tremendous. Loved seeing his father at the games with his hard hat.
Just heartbroken today to learn of the passing of former Billiken great and Mascoutah High 🏀 coach Justin Love. A great player and a tremendous young man. My heart goes out to his family and the Mascoutah High community.
Thank you for the kind words. Yes. I will be inducted into the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame next month as part of the Class of 2018. I am very honored
Congratulations to in my opinion the best high school and college sports guy in the St. Louis area
@earlaustinjr
on be inducted into the Missouri basketball hall of fame
I am very, very emotional right about now. I’ve been looking forward to this moment for 15 years. He’s put the work in and he’s ready. Your father would be so proud. The entire family is proud.
CONGRATULATIONS CUZ!!!
I’m getting emotional watching this. He has worked so, so hard to put himself in a position to take advantage of his opportunities. So incredibly proud of him.
Malcom Hill was an All-State baller at Belleville East.
One of the top career scorers in the history of the University of Illinois program.
Now, he’s playing for the Chicago Bulls and getting minutes.
What a dream life for a kid from Illinois.
Just learned of the passing of my friend Marc Mares. A big loss to our basketball community. Helped so many kids throughout the years. Countless. A selfless individual. My heart goes out to his wife Loretta and the rest of the family. We are going to miss you Big Marc.
I am completely devastated today to learn of the passing of SLU assistant 🏀coach Ford Stuen. At 29 years old, Ford was a rising star in the coaching ranks. So smart and dedicated to his craft and his young family. Heartbroken today for his family.

.On behalf of our family, thank you for this beautiful pre-game tribute to Uncle Wes. Had tears streaming when I saw it for the first time last night. You are having that same impact in DC as he did as a great player and community leader. ❤️
A very moving pre-game ceremony to honor former McCluer South Berkeley coach Todd Shelton, who was a victim of senseless gun violence. He is and he continues to be a inspiration to all of us, especially our young people. A tremendous young man.

returns tonight as I’ll at at CBC for the big opening season showdown between East St Louis at CBC. I’ll have sights and sounds on my Facebook page then back here for reports and highlights. It’s good to be back
Perhaps the most complete performance I’ve seen in my 31 years of broadcasting Billiken game. That stat line and the walk on bucket. A masterpiece. Masterpiece.
Jayson is first Celtic rook to score 28 in a playoff game since Larry Legend 38 years ago.. With each injury, his role expands and everyone now gets to see his full arsenal, which everyone in the STL has been watching for years.

In about 15 minutes, I will be calling my first basketball game at historic Madison Square Garden. I am sooooo excited. It’s the Billikens vs Virginia Tech
Former Billiken great Jordair Jett being introduced as a SLU Hall of Famer to the Chaifetz crowd. One of the great clutch performers in Billiken history
Congratulations to No. 2 nephew Austin Thompson on his signing with Cornell University 🏈 football today. Since I can’t be in Massachusetts with him, I can rep with him back home on his special day. Great accomplishment young man, but the work really starts now.
My little bit of advice to all the young players as I watch all of these grassroots games all the country.
Take one less dribble. The game becomes much easier for you and your teammates. One less dribble.
Just a tip from the Old School Geezer
Our entire family was gathered around the TV that night Hank Aaron hit No. 715 to break the HR record. I was jumping up and down. My father, a baseball lifer, had tears run down his face. First time I had ever seen tears from my father.
St. Louisans Caleb Love (CBC/Arizona), Keshon Gilbert (Vashon/Iowa State), Ryan Kalkbrenner (Trinity/Creighton), Aijha Blackwell (Whitfield/Baylor) are headed to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament

We had a great first year of covering high school sports for the

around the St Louis metro area in 2018-19. It was a pleasure to highlight all of the tremendous athletes in different sports.
Last year, Brad Beal gets 37 in a Game 7 on the road. Patrick McCaw comes up big in a championship finals clincher as a rook. Jayson blows up in a Game 7 at 20 years old. I love my STL guys. Tough. Mettle.
Congratulations to Isaac Bruce. Hall of Famer. Covering The Greatest Show on Turf was one of the biggest highlights of my career. Sunday couldn’t get there fast enough
Sobering night. Left Parkway North after the first session of games which my nephew played in. Missed all the craziness that occurred. And people injured in shootings at Soldan tonight, including kids. I’m heartbroken tonight.
I don’t get scoops very often but I couldn’t sit on this any longer:
My friend and partner Earl Austin, Jr has been elected to the Billiken Hall of Fame! His effort, dedication and professionalism is unparalleled. He makes the broadcasts go and me a better announcer.
Congrats!
Although I’m in Springfield, MO covering the state basketball championships, I still have to rep our

Billiken women as they make their NCAA Tournament debut today in Knoxville against Tennessee. Go Bills!
Fred “Curly” Neal – the Harlem Globetrotters icon known worldwide for his trademark shaved head and charismatic smile – passed away this morning in his home outside of Houston at the age of 77.
Thinking of my late friend Lou Potsou last night. He was a great man. Watching some of a girls game on line and saw his granddaughter Elena Potsou of Parkway West make six 3-pointers in a victory over Summit. The Big Guy would be blowing up my phone right about now. He’s smilin’
