Nine recently gave a boss accused of misconduct a $1 million payout. It’s putting up Scotty Cam in a five star hotel for the Paris Olympics. But this very profitable company refuses to offer its journalists fair pay. That’s why we’re striking. @withMEAA #DontTorchJournalism

Not to say there isn’t serious material in there - there is - but a grain of salt is required when listening to Western Gov reactions.

For those buying the “catastrophe” narrative by US about Discord intel leak, remember there’s chronic over-classification of info and gov reax is often theatrical. In 2012, Robert Gates described reax to WikiLeaks disclosure as “significantly overwrought”.

While Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said the leaks "tear at the fabric" of our government, the defense secretary says all nations know the U.S. "leaks like a sieve" and will still deal...

The ABC must deliver on a workplace agreement that sees genuine improvement in career progression for junior staff. Some people have been stuck on the same band for more than a decade. Let’s end the inequality. @abcnews @withMEAA #DontDiscountABC

I’ve seen too many talented colleagues angry and frustrated, taking on more and more roles for no extra pay and no real prospects of progression. Too many have already walked out the door. We love our ABC. I’m standing @withmeaa for a fair go and a better Aunty #dontdiscountabc

Tune in to ABC News Channel at 2.30pm AEDT for live coverage of the Reserve Bank March interest rate decision. A tenth consecutive rate rise to 3.6pc is widely expected. But how many more? We know the public values our coverage and a strong ABC workforce #DontDiscountABC @abcnews

An attempt to dishonestly hide more than 3/4 million in political donations from one of Australia’s most powerful people (a miner)? Or are our laws around political donations so Byzantine that the system is to blame? Great story by ⁦@MikeySlezak

It took almost a year, but the NSW law enforcement watchdog has acknowledged former commissioner Mick Fuller breached his own integrity rules by not declaring racehorse ownership. The LECC’s also ack’d it was wrong to criticise the ABC’s reporting.

Today, I’m voting NO to the ABC’s proposed employment offer. Staff at the national broadcaster are increasingly underpaid and overworked and this deal will only entrench those problems - particularly for diverse and junior staff. #DontDiscountABC
