Likely as fruitless as the effort this year suggesting we 'pause'. There are so many open source models out there and everyone is pursuing this in parallel. The larger more well funded efforts will get there quicker.... others will lag 1yr, maybe 2 at most?

I'm not flag waving here for AGI, or technology in general, just observing that thinking it can be mediated or made 'safer' is likely wishful thinking.

Channeling @kevin2kelly ... this is a prime example of "What technology wants". AGI (GPT 5?) is in the works, board concerned about safety, tapping the brakes, they fire @sama, etc. But technology routes around 'censorship'... a newco will be formed, pace will not be slowed.
