Been thinking about this tweet ever since I saw it. Mainstream American journalists think unilateral US sanctions are *the actual international law*, and anyone who tries to circumvent them is a criminal. These are the people who are informing the American public about the world.

"Perhaps research"? I did. I even read the screenshots you posted. Venezuela did not steal U.S. government property. It nationalized its own oil industry, a right explicitly recognized under international law and practiced by dozens of countries, including U.S. allies. What

American sweat, ingenuity and toil created the oil industry in Venezuela. Its tyrannical expropriation was the largest recorded theft of American wealth and property. These pillaged assets were then used to fund terrorism and flood our streets with killers, mercenaries and drugs.

Ecuador’s dictatorship is doing “temporary” joint exercises with the U.S. on Ecuadorian soil even though voters just rejected US bases. And Ecuadorians only found out about it because the U.S. Embassy in Ecuador announced it.

The United States needs to stay out of Venezuela. Let the Venezuelan people determine their future. We don't want other countries to choose our leaders--so we have to stop trying to choose theirs.

Wrong. Venezuela's sovereign land and its resources were never owned by the U.S. Oil was nationalized in Venezuela in 1976 under a democratic government friendly to the U.S. U.S. companies are free to invest in Venezuela's oil sector (like Chevron) but they can never own it.

The U.S. has tried to smash the Bolivarian Revolution for over 25 years. They’ve tried sanctions. They’ve tried coups. They’ve tried military action. But the revolution is still here. Because It’s a people’s revolution. And a revolutionary people do not cow before terrorism.
