If you own an 1895, you know how my body feels from the last 4 days of opener rebuilds. Including the main opener arm bushings 🥵

Had a combine fire in part of the field in 24. Then no till fallow. Canola planted after rain this fall. Then heat and wind. Germinated seed died If you've ever wondered how critical residue is to moisture retention in no till, this pic says a lot.

Scrambling like hell to get winter crops streamed before the anticipated storm. Let hope the red sky in morning theory holds.

Not sure what has improved more since it started raining. The winter crops or my mood.

Second crop (regrowth) spring canola might out yield my first actual crop if it doesn't freeze down soon. 🙄. More rain in the last month than I had all spring and summer....

Did MacDon really make the finger reversing guide wheel just big enough that it doesn't fit out a wi Dow and you have to pull the whole damn drum 🤬

Anybody have any suggestions on how to keep my booms from trying to pass me going down hill? I’ve rebuilt the cylinders. Put high pressure relief valves in the block, put new valve cartridges in, and replaced the magnetic sensors. I’d take any ideas.

Sometimes you need to take a minute to remind yourself life ain't that bad.

Back in the saddle again this week cutting devil flowers (safflower) after seeding winter crops the previous few weeks. I used to say “Ain’t no Rest for the Wicked” mostly because I like the song. But the Mayors quote below I has been rolling around in my head the last few days

It's a calm evening when the dust from the entire last pass is still sitting right where it was made.

And this one’s just because I’m in the posting mood, and sometimes life is shitty but don’t forget to be grateful for what you got.

When you don’t have a telehandler or an auger on your aircart, but you do have a backhoe in the field from the previous days fun. You get creative with the terrain to get seed in the drill.

Thank God for friends who on Saturday night of a holiday weekend say “I got nothing going on tomorrow, let me come help you with that” Completely derailed a track on a 35% slope. Was a lot of work yesterday getting it back on. I could not have done it without great friends. ❤️

Anybody ever had canola and then rain (we finished harvest, tarp was open) weld their grain cart door shut? I had to air hammer it every which way to get it to finally budge.

Low of 36. When the air is bone dry, you dang near freeze in the middle of summer here. Great place to farm, highly recommend 🙄
