about 5 months ago i bought a new hard drive to replace my 7 year old drive and cloned all of my clips onto it, and today that 7 year old drive died i feel SO lucky i replaced it when i did, everything from the last 7 years, up until 5 months ago, were all on that drive

and ofc the day after this ive gone from almost instant queue times to not being able to find any games -_-

was there an optimisation update for the finals recently? i hopped on the game after a long break today and was getting ~340fps, last time i played i would average around 240 mouse input feels way better than i remember too idk what happened, game feels great

for full transparency, im going to make primarily aiming focused content throughout 2026 but also have some more experimental videos outside of the niche that delve into gaming more broadly or other hobbies of mine, and ill decide what to do in 2027 based on how those go!

and this certainly doesnt mark the death of the aiming community or anything like that, there are heaps of up and coming players and content creators in the scene who have a lot of potential, and the community isnt made or broken by one or two figureheads taking a small step back

just for clarity, nothing is going to change about my youtube uploads or streams, im just not going to play aimtrainers or engage much with the community anymore also still going to finish my benchmarks and voltaic season 5.5, but those are probably my last kovaaks projects

the other thing thats killed my motivation is how toxic people became, its like everyone is looking for an excuse to argue with each other + how awful people have been to me over the last two cheating controversies and my kvks projects makes me want to direct attention elsewhere

over my time aimtraining ive had three bouts of hand pain. ive recovered from each of them but each time that recovery takes longer and the pain inhibits me more, and im worried it will get to the point where i cant work on videos it just seems stupid to keep playing despite that

i think im going to have to quit aimtraining entirely, between how bad my hand has become and the state of the community i dont see much of a reason to keep playing. id rather put my efforts towards making videos and actual fps games at this point

Voltaic S5.5 is a bid to improve the quality of the scenarios in our current KVK benchmark. This is a WIP update that does not guarantee the complete overhaul of all of the scenarios. The changes we make, if any, will make the scenarios better for overall improvement.

reactions and make changes based on community feedback, i want to be as open with the project as possible if s6 does ever happen it will be years down the line and i dont see that as a reason to not make changes now.

just to clarify a few things: s6 is probably never happening, i personally dont see how it could s5.5 was my proposal to address some of the scenarios i see criticized the most within s5 + what matty and i think needs changing ill publish it as a beta first on evxl to gauge ppls-
