Gonzalo Meneses urges allies to approach decolonizing work without placing themselves at the center.

“One of the first rules of transformative justice: the person who has been harmed should not be expected to transform the person who has done the harm,” says Xia Duffing Romero.

Aminah shares that the doctrine of discovery is something that we all should be paying attention to and fighting against.

“Colonialism is everywhere and in everything, and it’s because we live under a settler colonial paradigm,” says Aminah Ghaffar. She goes on to explain that this paradigm is upheld by lies.

When asked about the ways colonialism presents in his work, sickle cell advocate @UgandaWarrior explains that access to innovations in sickle cell drugs are dictated by colonial powers.

Xia Duffing Romero also states that “white supremacy separates us from what we need and tells us that we are delusional.”

Xia Duffing Romero states “Climate change is the result of genocide. Climate change is the result of colonialism.”
