We look forward to seeing more research unveiling the impact that conspiracy beliefs might have on our primary and most immediate social context, namely, the interpersonal relationships we rely on daily! (6/6)

We further observe that this conditional effect of conspiracy beliefs can also shape first impressions in the context of dating apps, influencing expectations of relationship satisfaction in prospective relationships. (5/6)

The reversed pattern is true for people who endorse the conspiracy belief: they expect increased relationship satisfaction, more behavioral and attitudinal closeness, and higher perceptions of mutual trust. (4/6)

In the hypothetical that a person from their social network expresses a conspiracy belief, people who do not endorse it expect a decrease in their relationship satisfaction, a process of behavioural and attitudinal distancing, and lower perceptions of mutual trust. (3/6)

Across studies, we find that conspiracy beliefs are negatively associated with satisfaction in interpersonal relationships among people who do not endorse conspiracy beliefs, while this association tends to reverse among people who do endorse them. (2/6)

Great work by my collaborators @AifeDoyle @ChalmersJocelyn & @alekscichocka in evaluating gender differences in one of the few incentive systems of academia. More change is necessary to reduce gender bias, especially within a field carrying the banner of the study of prejudice.
