This was genuinely surprising to me as I thought I'd only take the emails back off if I felt myself taken over by my phone. In fact I didn't but I still noticed a sharp effect on how I felt. Took me a while to think: "wait is it the emails?". 4/

After about a week of having email back on my phone. Only using it every now and then to clear some emails: my sleep deteriorated (I'm a very proud good sleeper) and have been generally less happy. 3/

My thinking being that I'm in a better place career wise, have wider range of priorities (kids) so I won't be "taken over" by email on my phone. And perhaps being able to get rid of 10 or so emails when I get a spare 5 minutes would be helpful at being a more present father. 2/

About 10 years ago I removed my work email from my phone. This was mainly due to anxiety/stress/quality of life. It's been great. Recently as time has gotten even more rare I though that perhaps putting email back on my phone would help. 1/

Was going to kick off class today by asking the important Coffee versus Tea poll question but instead ran our mid module feedback. One response was just "CROCS" (I wear the optimal footwear which are Crocs) and I 100% take on board that student's feedback.
