Dictator Yoweri
@KagutaMuseveni
has signed the Anti-Homosexuality Act (2023) into law. Cry beloved Uganda, cry for this sad day for the rights of LGBTIQA+ people and their allies. La luta continua!
Kenya has been my safest home in Africa, in times when Uganda became too dangerous to be home anymore. And so, today I am joining the Kenyan Demonstration in Berlin as a diehard friend of Kenya.
We still dance!
Even in exile,
We still hear the music
Playing in our hearts
As it played long ago
In the hearts of our ancestors
When they were exiled
From dictators before
The dictator who exiled us.
And so, we still dance
Even in exile…
Museveni must go!
As a Muganda committed to decolonisation, I hail Kabaka Mwanga this Martyrs’ Day. Those so-called martyrs were traitors yielded to Christianisation and colonisation. I refuse to partake of your colonial celebrations of sell-outs who betrayed Buganda, spited our Kabaka and norms.
Absent fathers are evident in family photo-albums. My daughter, who loves photography, asked that we pose for photos breaking this absence in our archived family photos. We obliged. For the first time, we took Daddy-Mummy-&-their-3-children photos. Valentine is still valentining!
Somebody tell
@HEBobiwine
that we do not use GDP to wash our smelly bodies. We do not eat fluent English and statistics! How does his State of Nation Address differ from dictator
@KagutaMuseveni
’s constipated speech? Where is your fire ka-Blaza? Ani yakumanyula ko amaraasi oyo?
Fuck you dictator
@KagutaMuseveni
!
Stop terrorising peaceful marchers with threats of FIRE.
Apart from a demented brute, what "Father of the Nation" threatens children peacefully walking to a House of
@ParliamentUG
full of snakes for MPs they voted? Fuck you.
#AnitaMustResign
Welcome to Bavaria
@KakwenzaRukira
! Thanks to
@PEN_Deutschland
for offering a safe haven to writers persecuted in repressive countries like Uganda. Oh, the joy of sharing freedom, food, music and friendship! We rub oil into our wounds and continue writing truth to power!
A new broom sweeps well, but an old broom knows all the corners!
Make new friends, but keep the old; one is silver and the other is gold…
My old broom is my gold is my Daddy Ous.
Wonders never! My children’s dad came home for Valentine’s week. He arrived yesterday with goodies for his children. Although much older than when we last met, he still has it. Last night, was the first in 17 years for all five of us to sleep under one roof. Best night ever!
My twin sons turn sixteen years old today! I thank God, the gods, ancestors, family and friends for raising Wasswa and Kato. Mothering these identical twins is my special source of magical power…
Every night until the Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda is buried, I will write a poem eulogising him! I am totally shameless in my resistance against the enablers of my tormentors!
Poem 1: WE SHALL DANCE AT THE NEWS OF DEATH: A POEM
Although my twin sons first met their father when they were 16 years old, the 3 invest in time together. When I see Daddy Ousman working hard to make up for lost time, I have no option but to let go of my bitterness. I hope my sons' unanswered questions get some resolution.
It is special to turn 50 year in the company of my children and Daddy Ousman. The guys cooked Gambian domoda, chicken yassa, couscous and white rice. Baraka & Drey dressed me. Although I carried my children to date, they will soon carry me.
I'm thankful for messages of love.
Humans with a passport from Africa suffer indignity when applying for a UK, US or EU visa. After stomaching tedious filling of online forms, e-payments of hefty fees, opaque booking of interview appointment, and travelling to submit biometrics, one then gets denied the visa! Nkt
When this year started, I was a convicted prisoner locked up in a maximum security prison. Today, I am not only acquitted but also going to the Electoral Commission to be nominated as an aspiring Kampala Woman Member of Parliament!
#FromPrison2Parliament
When I think about my life, I laugh insanely. When suffering with the burden of making ends meet as a single mum, I never knew I would laugh again with Daddy Ousman. These days we laugh a lot. We laughed at how an older Ous can no longer lift an older me. I nearly broke his back.
In Kenya we say,
#RutoMustGo
In Uganda we say,
#AnitaMustResign
Today, we return to our peaceful
#March2Parliament
in order to
#StopCorruption
in Uganda.
Solidarity is always political. The GenZ-led movement in East Africa is partyless, leaderless, tribeless and fearless.
#EastPRIDEBerlin
started with prayer led by GayChurch Berlin. I am carrying the Ugandan flag stitched together with the rainbow flag. We are marching through Berlin and heading to the
@UGEmbassyBerlin
. We goooo, we gooooo!
Why are intelligent Ugandans joining the evil
@GenMKmovement
? When
@AndrewMwenda
and
@FrankGashumba
joined, we knew it was for exploitative financial gain. But
@muyangalutaaya
, my friend, Mulamogi son and FDC comrade is a painful shock! What is the price of selling one’s soul?
Just like their nomad father, my children love wandering through nature in the wild outdoors. I prefer to ruminate indoors. But, I walked with them this weekend. My nomads gladly meandered through a forest to a beautiful lake. We sat down, ate home-made sandwiches & drank tea. Oh
I love Dr. Kizza Besigye more! How he escaped from police officers who intercepted him in Jinja while on his way to Soroti yesterday, is a story for Ninjas. Imagine kidnapping a man’s car - thinking you have arrested him, and shortly, he is dancing at a rally. Besigye songa…
Punch for punch!
Kick for kick!
Slap for slap!
Mpuuga is not stepping down from commissioner, not refunding money, & not defecting from
@NUP_Ug
.
How will the Sentamu family dynasty, in-laws, praise-singers & bootlickers in NUP respond? Katandiika butandisi. Mutulise popcorns.
Happy birthday Wasswa and Kato! Mothering these identical twins is my most special gift from God, the gods, goddesses, godlings and all my kind ancestors. Their vibrant presence is evidence of ubuntu’s communal providence. Thank you, my people, for raising my babies with me!
Although my daughter
@_barakabah_
is my oldest child, she is also smaller than her brothers. They dwarf her. The boys are very protective of her. At her graduation, they could not get enough of carrying her as a sign of so much joy that she made all of us proud with her success.
Some are busy publicly calling for world peace and advocating for ceasefires, yet bitter wars rage in our private lives. Two-faced hypocrites! For me, I am being consistent. I first made peace in my own home. My demands for ceasefires are not duplicitous. Make love, not war…
Was
@HEBobiwine
thinking when he said dictator
@KagutaMuseveni
made the Anti-Homosexuality Act especially for him? Regardless of gross human rights violations against homosexuals in Uganda, Bobi said the law targets him? Isn’t his egocentricism record breaking? Cartoon from www.
Isn’t it suspicious
@HEBobiwine
is now tactfully pro-homosexuality & condemns MPs in his
@NUP_Ug
political party who unanimously voted for the Anti-Homosexuality Act as working with dictator
@KagutaMuseveni
? Uganda’s politrickians take advantage of the gullible! Cartoon from www
I thank
@EFFSouthAfrica
party for solidarity with Ugandan LGBTIQA+. EFF is the only humane and bold political party in Africa that publicly stands with the continent’s sexual minorities. Thanks EFF for leadership in showing that Africa belongs to all who claim her. Amandla!
She is fighting against homosexuality because she says it is a form of foreign imperialism from the degenerate West, yet she is simultaneously bleaching her black skin with chemicals to make her look like a white Mzungu! We see through your lies…
For
@GenTumwine
who threatened Ugandan protesters that the police has a right to shoot and kill us! Finally, he has gone before us to verily meet with his eye that died many years ago during Dictator
@KagutaMuseveni
’s bush-war. Go to hell, one-eyed singing wizard!
People have asked why I am not writing protest poetry against Cecilia Ogwal dying in a hospital abroad, similar to my hard-hitting poems when Oulanyah died. Well, Cecilia is a beauty, of the opposition, & a WOMAN who empowered women. I’ll write my critical poems when Janet dies…
Back home in Uganda, my children reared rabbits. We enjoyed eating rabbit. Daddy Ous gave his children a special treat. They went shopping and brought back 2 packs of fresh rabbit meat. It was Wasswa’s turn to cook. What a joy to witness father & son in our tiny kitchen cooking!
Wisdom from an African feminist Ninja: All single mums need a sofa-bed. When the smooth sly fox bounces back to “reconnect with the children”, assign him the sofa-bed in the sitting room. Instruct one of the children to make the father’s bed. This sofa-bed kept my cookie safe!
I joined
@KakwenzaRukira
and Mutebi Eddie at the peaceful protest held in Munich against Russia’s attack on Ukraine. We carried blue and yellow flags and handmade placards in solidarity with Ukraine.
Any news from Kenya’s Agha Khan Hospital? Is the musical-artist-soldier in the mortuary after postmortem? Shall I iron my black kitengi and start eulogizing
@GenTumwine
who boldly issued death threats to Ugandans? Has he fought out of death’s jaw? Is he still wrestling Walumbe?
In the city of Munich, I am protected by the popopopolice. I am an exiled writer and ex-political prisoner who was given temporary relief in order to heal and be safe from my political persecutors. Go and ask why I am an exile and not a regugee or asylum seeker…
Daddy Ous left 2 pairs of boxer shorts hanging neatly on my panty-peg-holder in the bathroom, and his musk scented shower gel besides mine. On the sink, he left his disposable shaver, soap, and tooth paste. Is this inheritance for the children, or territorial marks of his turf?
The opposition in Kenya, Senegal, South Africa, Nigeria and Tunisia have all mobilised peaceful protests today - 20th March 2023. Power to the masses of oppressed people! Where is Uganda?
Imagine having a Speaker of Parliament with a beautiful orange-coloured face and black buttocks inside her power suit. The pain we must daily endure under dictator Museveni is immense!
Yesterday was a wonderful day of victorious celebration, my people. My daughter,
@_barakabah_
brought us the honour of graduating at Bavarian International School. Thank you for walking with our family through the journey from kindergarten until today. I am grateful!
We are determined to
#March2Parliament
on 23rd July to
#StopCorruption
to ensure that
#AnitaMustResign
We have had enough! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! What happened to the sugarcane in Busoga? What happened to the bitooke in Buganda? Where is Lubowa Hospital? Nedda. TUJJA
Nothing beats affirmation that comes from one woman to another. Now, imagine 3 amazingly creative beauties from Uganda my homeland acknowledging me in exile among their line-up of strong women! Thanks
@CindySanyu_UG
,
@lmbabazi
&
@jackieeyaa
for affirming me at the
#Blu3Reunion
.
Thanks CIC
@Julius_S_Malema
for leading EFF’s picket to Uganda High Commission in RSA to protest against the Anti-Homosexuality law passed by
@Parliament_Ug
. In solidarity with Uganda’s LGBTIQA+, you asked
@KagutaMuseveni
not to sign the homophobic law. Viva
@EFFSouthAfrica
viva!
When
@kizzabesigye1
halted his schedule for photos with my children, he won my heart & became my political leader. He also became president to my daughter and twin sons. What president stops for children? He inspires my commitment to Uganda’s liberation. The people’s president!
The double standards in Uganda are to heartbreaking. I was imprisoned twice for my poems, but nobody will be imprisoned for stealing iron sheets meant for Karamoja. Oh Uganda!
I broke up with my lover of 8 years. My daughter,
@_barakabah_
got me out of the house, to join her on a bus ride. The boys stayed home cleaning, cooking & doing homework. Nursing a broken heart is easier when my children have had broken hearts. They are my healers this season.
My daughter,
@_barakabah_
has taken our family photographs since she was a little girl. Seeing talent, I bought her camera equipment over the years. I introduced her to professional photographers who mentored her craft. The recent great pictures are Baraka’s artistic creations.
August is difficult. On 9th August 2014, my father - Dr Joseph S Nyanzi died looking for a vial of medicine. On 10th August 2015, my mother - Mrs Harriet B Nyanzi died after waiting for an absent ambulance.
I hate
@KagutaMuseveni
for murdering my parents.
Rest well dad & mum!
To mark my anniversary from prison, today I have started writing my new poetry collection “Undressing Luzira Women Prison: 305 Poems for 305 Days in Prison.” Poem 1 is “I stole a maximum security prison uniform” posted on my Facebook timeline.
Why is it that
@HEBobiwine
Bobi Wine's cult members never learnt that their badly baked insults and toothless threats only strengthen my resolve to critic his posturing as the faultless president of Uganda's opposition? I will continue pissing bitter ink on his holiness Bobi.
Me, my kids & their dad showing up for the black tee-shirt non-partisan struggle, only to find comrades in their red berets, red overalls & red under-wear. Was that freaking show non-partisan & partyless? Or was that a political party jamboree?
#March2Parliament
#StopCorruption
Imagine I would now be the Woman MP for Kampala during this mounting crisis! Eh, God I thank you for shielding me from all this rot. As we focus on
@KCCAUG
for all the unfolding failures, what has the Kampala Woman Member of
@ParliamentUG
-
@ShamimMalende
done for Kiteezi?
Yesterday on Valentine’s day, my lover gifted me with news of his cute newborn baby from another woman. He also said he loves me forever. I believe him because I, too, love him forever. While I celebrate the baby, my heart is broken. I am now writing bitter revolutionary poetry!
Ugandans are not mannerless. Is anyone dancing on the grave of the statesman/ politician who worked for peace, non-violence and democracy? But when wicked men die, we rejoice. When Musevenists die, we dance for joy!
Who fuels the drones abducting Ugandans? Who pays the drivers? Who services the drones? Who washes them? Where do these drones park? In which neighbourhood are drones kept safe?
“When I was like a child, I spoke like a child. Now that I am a man, I speak like a man.” On BBC,
@HEBobiwine
drew from scripture to explain his “change of heart” from a dangerous homophobe calling for violence against homosexuals to an inclusive leader who is pro-homosexuality.
Yesterday, Ugandans filed a petition at the Constitutional Court against the Anti-Homosexuality Act (2023) that Dictator
@KagutaMuseveni
signed into law. I am glad to witness Ugandans mounting homegrown resistance against this state-instigated homophobia. La luta continua!
My book manuscript of 57 poems marking 57 years of Jacob Oulanyah’s life is in press. Book your copy while the whirlwind that blew away the tent covering his casket is still blowing! Museveni(sts) must stop poisoning Ugandans.
Lately, friends are realising my foresight about Uganda’s politics. One even called me a prophet because my predictions are coming to pass.
My intuition about
@NUP_Ug
&
@HEBobiwine
‘s leadership was correct. I have no regrets for refusing to join the bandwagon to ride his wave.
My political party the
@FDCOfficial1
has a constitution which is freely accessible (as booklets or online) to the public. Where is the constitution of
@NUP_Ug
?
Even UPC, DP, NRM and ANT have easily accessible constitutions. Again: where is the constitution of the NUP?😳😳
1/3When I suffered a miscarriage from torture as a political prisoner of conscience at Luzira Women Prison, I received two big bottles of Fanta soda from
@BalaamAteenyiDr
who had visited another female prisoner. Fearing poison, I gladly shared the drinks with my inmates.
