Gentle reminder lang po to all UP graduates, wag po sanang unahin ang “yabang” (excellence) kaysa sa honor, service, and kindness. Yan ang “sablay” na hindi natin dapat sinusuot. Just had to put this out as I have recently encountered one. NKKLK.

The time to think should be paid in all workplaces. We cannot just do “paid work” if we are not paid to also think, reflect, exchange and discuss on work-related things. 😊

Today, post-modern work like content creation, social media, and online business are being romanticized to make 9-5 jobs look old-fashioned and not lucrative. Maybe you’re right, but we choose to be ordinary in exchange for peace of mind. 💭

How do you respond professionally and kindly to harsh comments and feedback on your grant applications, manuscripts, and presentations? I got a harsh one today, I want to learn from you all. My PhD is not enough. 😔

My scientific dilemma with “evidence-based practice” is how it deprioritises practising based on patient and caregiver stories, culture, values, and the tacit observations of daily living.

I’m no longer lured to the idea that I can “change the world”. Apparently, this is a lie making my aspirations unrealistic and eternally frustrated. Now, I simply aspire to feel okay with failing, being kind to myself and others, and expect less from people.

Starting my 2024 with academic rejections. Now, I totally understand why academics had to go through a PhD process so we become competent in responding to rejections, failures, and setbacks. #RealTalk
