🇬🇪 @chateau.labara is a passionate producer that wants to provide jobs and a reason for people to visit this small village. With producers like this leading the way, Imereti can become a better known wine destination.

🥇 Day 1 of the Imereti Wine Challenge. 🇬🇪 The wines in the quality are drastically improved from last year and we followed up the tasting with a visit to the Vani Archaeological Museum - one of the best in Georgia.

🇬🇪 A little day tour of Kutaisi in Imereti, Georgia. This unknown region is full of spas, caves, outdoor activities and of course - food & wine. 🍴We ended the evening with dinner at @agrohousekorena and I was assigned to make the Katachapuri - Georgian cheese bread.

🇬🇪 Woke up in West Georgia and soaking it all in before judging the Imereti Wine Challenge. 🩳 A day of whirlpooling at @tskaltuboepic_hotel_and_spa and visiting the nearby Prometheus Caves - which included a boat ride along the underground river!

🇮🇹 @vinitalyusa day 2 - had an amazing time seeing friends, going to tastings, and meeting viewers IRL. 🎙️ I also shot a video podcast pairing pizza and Italian wines with @korinnejm of @winebow & @alicialini of @lini910 Lambrusco. 🎥 Stay tuned to YouTube!

🇭🇺 Natural wine bar hopping in Budapest… The Kadarka, Kékfankos, & Juhfark were flowing like water! 🍷 The vibes & vino at both @mokkacukka5.ker & @marlouwinebar_store are both excellent…

🇭🇺 Hanging out in the cellars of @jammertalborbirtok in the South of Hungary. 🍇 In Villány, Carbernet Franc (like the yummy CF*CIH by Jammertal) and other Bordeaux varieties are the name of the game but there are also wonderful wines made of Kékfrankos, Portugieser, and Kadarka

🇭🇺 I’ve been a fan of @gaborkiss_winery for years. Based on Villány, where the reds can get big and oaky, his wines are anything but. 🥂 His wines show pure fruit flavors and bright acidity.

🙏 To Derek & Pilar of @garagewineco for having my over to their home for dinner and a night of Carignan. 🇨🇱 They showed me several wines from @vignadores_de_carignan - a group dedicated to making wines from ancient vines in the Maule Valley.

🇨🇱 Spending the afternoon with a little vertical tasting at @almavivawinery - where Chilean terroir meets French philosophy. 🇫🇷 It’s a joint venture between the Rothschild family of Bordeaux and @conchaytoro based on Cabernet Sauvignon with a generous amount of Carmenere.

🇨🇱 Tasting through some fun wines from @santaritawines 🍇 Their 120 range is affordable and can be found worldwide but they also do serious stuff too. I was a big fan of their Sauvignon Blanc and Carmenere in the Floresta range.

🇺🇸 Back home for a few days then on to Chicago then 🇬🇪 -> 🇰🇷 -> 🇺🇦

🇨🇱 Spending time with Kurt at his place @primabar and @99_restaurante - named one of @theworlds50best restaurants. 🍾 Kurt showed me an outstanding, floral Pet-Nat by @vinolajoda and a 11-year-old Pais by @louisantoineluyt that was still very young and delicious to boot.

🇨🇱 Hanging out with the crew at @vinacarmencl 🥂 While their Grand Reserva line is well-distributed, affordable, and good - I’m glad they opted to show me some experimental wines.
