In comparison a lot of Japanese yume art I see purposefully leaves the character's partner's features vague but that culture doesn't seem to exist much in the west.

I find it kinda weird how western yumeshippers tend to emphasize themselves so much (like "this is MY husband here's MY OC that looks like ME") instead of simply focusing on their love for a character.
