Galway v Kerry thread from @GAA_Insights Kerry are strong on short KOs scoring 33% of the time off all shorts . Galway are half as efficient 17% converting shorts to scores. Galway have vulnerable defending shorts with opposition scoring 3-5 in the last two games. 1/

A few standouts...Kildare only converted 2/10 chances created in the first 1/4 when dominating the game. 2/3 of Galway chances came from Kildare turnovers/counter attack. 2nd half Galway won 90% of own KO, K Walsh winning 6 of own KO plus 1 KE, J Fallon also winning 4 Kildare KOs

It’s the key question, people look for easy answer in terms of population and money but you can’t ignore they have the best skills, best tacklers, best kickouts, best tactics and seem to have a tight camp with strong behaviors

Galway v Armagh data from @gaainsights . Both teams are excellent in possession scoring 1 point from every 2 times they have the ball.  Against Donegal in the Ulster championship, Armagh were well beaten on kickouts with Donegal scoring 1-11 from kickouts v 7 points from Arm 1/

Data from @GAA_Insights . Tyrone have scored 3-24 from turnovers in own third in champ. Tyrone conceded only 14 points from turnovers in opp third. Mayo will be happy to shoot from distance even with a low efficiency. A tyrone kickout is less of a threat than a Tyrone turnover

I can’t understand the push to under 18 and allowing under 18s play senior. It’s already difficult to manage under 17s with schools, club, county, development squads and other sports. Adding senior eligibility on top of that would be crazy and many are not physically ready

Reviewing data from Dublin’s last 4 games  compared to the 2023 indicates a return to their dominance. Data from @gaainsights Dublin have less phase possessions per game in 2023 which is a common trend but their efficiency has increased significantly. 1/

Can’t see Kerry coming close to Dublin again. Dublin have too much room to improve. Can see them attacking Kerry kickouts with extra man and big players will play better. May utilize sweeper. Can’t wait for replay
