People with disabilities face information inequities in healthcare via decisions that donβt take their lived experiences into account. In our paper in @PlosDigiHealth, we show how #digitalhealth and #NLProc can help reduce these inequities. https://t.co/wBehkAbjUq

If you've just rebranded to be an "AI ethics scholar" in the last 5-6 months or so, and you're not at least skimming all the relevant work that STS folks have been doing for the past ~25 years, you might want to fix that before showing your *entire* ass to the internet.

Excited and honoured to be a part of this fantastic panel at #MEDINFO23. In a datafied world we need to be talking much more (and much more critically) about disability data, and I'm thrilled to be part of an amazing group of speakers bringing that conversation to the stage.
The #MEDINFO23 Monday afternoon plenary session is centred on the theme of the conference - THE FUTURE IS ACCESSIBLE. Get to know our panelists Gillian Mason (facilitator), Liz Salmi, Denis Newman-Griffis, Rachel Dunscombe, Nas Campanella, Juanita Fernando.

But trying to get things out ASAP is just a force for stress, burnout, and exclusion of good students and good research.

And worth noting: the ACL policy is not and never was intended to fix this problem. This is a research culture problem, and changing it means changing our appointment, promotion, and funding metrics, so itβs a big deal that will not happen until it absolutely must.
